Electric cars are pouring on the power: Opel Ampera, Tesla Roadster, Rinspeed UC?, Ruf Porsche – these are just a few of the prominent electrically-powered vehicles on display from 3 to 6 June 2010 at the "the electric avenue" – the expo for electric mobility in Friedrichshafen. Parallel to this event, the KLASSIKWELT BODENSEE old-timer trade show will take place with 380 exhibitors, an event that covers the entire historical spectrum on land, water and in the air. This year there will be a charged atmosphere in the Rothaus Hall/A1. "That's where the range of mobility offers for the future will be on display with an even larger amount of space and some 50 exhibitors," says Roland Bosch, Project Manager of the expo for sustainable mobility and KLASSIKWELT BODENSEE.
The special feature of this event: On a track in the hall, the 'EnBW E-Car Test Center', visitors can take electric cars and e-motorcycles and e-bikes for a test run. Electrically-powered vehicles produce no emissions but offer highly impressive acceleration. Just like last year, there is once again a test track on the open-air grounds. There are current issues in e-mobility that need to be addressed. How does the infrastructure work, for example, how will drivers charge their batteries? What interfaces are necessary? This also touches on issues like intelligent energy management, the software required to control these processes and much more. It is an exciting topic for a power company and also for the visitors at the expo who will find a competent and eventful informational platform on the exhibition grounds in Friedrichshafen.
In addition to the electrically-powered vehicles Rinspeed UC?, Opel Ampera, Tesla Roadster and Ruf Porsche 911, the Norwegian carmaker "Think" will also be on hand. The small electric cars produced by this innovator are currently being used in car fleets in Vorarlberg, Austria.
Special show "111 Years of Electric Cars"
With an exhibition of historic electric vehicles and various displays, "111 Years of Electric Cars" gives visitors a clear demonstration of the differences, advantages and disadvantages of electric drives in comparison to internal combustion engines. This special show is complemented by an exhibition in Foyer West by car manufacturers Audi and Volkswagen where they also display historic vehicles from their collections.
AUTO TEST e-car award
On Thursday, June 3, 2010, the "AUTO TEST e-car award" will be presented in the Dornier Museum in Friedrichshafen. The award will be conferred in the three categories "individual", "vehicle" and "technology".
INCOVISion! The conference for "the electric avenue"
A B2B program of presentations will be held in four segments at the Conference Center in Foyer West (Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein rooms) on Friday, June 4, 2010 from 10:30 a.m. to 6 in the evening. Between the presentations, there will be "e-dating" sessions (expert discussions and exchanges of experience). This concept was created by INCOVIS from Filderstadt, a company that has been active in the automotive industry for 15 years and has also organized a presentation program for IAA 2010.
Excellent combination of two events
The big old-timer show and the "the electric avenue" expo for alternative drive systems will be held in this combination for the second time in Friedrichshafen. The two parallel events produced extremely satisfying results in 2009: for four days, a total of 42,000 visitors were treated to a new expo for sustainable mobility and KLASSIKWELT BODENSEE. Testing and trying out - that was the main activity at “the electric avenue” expo. Many visitors took advantage of this unique opportunity to experience how an electrically-powered sports car “takes off,” to see how an e-bike and an electric scooter accelerates, and to partake in a bit of pure driving fun.
Exhibitors who took part in the first "the electric avenue" expo are convinced that such comprehensive test opportunities will have a positive influence on future purchasing decisions for electrically-powered vehicles. Visitors showed a great deal of interest and pleasure in taking a trial run on the test track at the exhibition halls and were impressed with the power produced by an electrical drive.
The "electric avenue" Expo will take place from Thursday through Sunday, 3-6 June 2010, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Day passes cost 14 euros; the reduced admission fee is 10 euros.
